If e’er you find yourself lost and alone,

In a colorless land, far from home,

Find the First of the Fae, where they make their abode,

And take your chance and beg for a boon,

But lest you raise their ire instead,

Know which four of these gifts, to bring as your geld.

A stone smooth and round,

or

With an edge, thin and keen.

A dram of whiskey, fiery and strong,

or

A swig of water, cool and clear.

A simple trinket made by thy hands,

or

A cut flawless gem, fit for a queen.

A fragrant flower, soft and bright,

or

A bit of bramble with good sharp thorns.
